Hello tech-wizards out there!
My brother has moved to France. He left some of his belongings at our place including his Sanyo LCD TV. We are going to visit him this summer and he has asked us to bring the TV with us, but he was unsure if it would work over there. He said that in the UK we use PAL and that in France they use SECAM.
Does anyone know what this affects? Will he be able to plug the TV in to an antenna and watch TV in France? Plug in his Wii and play video games? Watch DVDs?
Thanks for your help!!!

It may be able to receive programmes but as the colour processing is totally different to PAL if you could see a picture it would probably be in black and white.
If the DVD player and wii are PAL then there would be no problem running them on the TV.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Depends on the age and spec of the TV. As you say it's LCD it's probably fairly modern and Sanyo will probably manufacture multi-compatible TV's with PAL, SECAM, NTSC.
I reckon he'll be fine BUT French TV is total garbage so don't bother plugging in an aerial lead and just watch DVD's/play Wii games.0
