Car Hire SCam

Hi
I recently returned from Italy and while there I hired a car for 7 days. On collection I had to leave a credit card imprint for the excess (£333.00). On dropping off the car I got all the documentation signed to say all was in order and off I went.

I've just checked my credit card statement and the payment has been put through.

Has anyone else had this and what did you do? So far i've emailed the company, who are yet to reply, and phoned my credit card company (who are raising a dispute but say the payment will stay on my account).

Is there anything else I can do? I'm worried that the car company will say there was something wrong when I dropped it off.

Thanks
dkb

Which car company was it? We had a small problem with Avis when in Pisa, but soon got it sorted. Surely, if you have the documentation to say all was in order, then that is your proof!
