Removal Company - West London/South Manchester - recommendations?

Hi

Moving from London to Manchester at the end of the month and am trying to find a removal company. Really getting lost in Google - lots of companies, some who respond to queries, others who simply do not.

Has anyone used a removal company in either of these two locations (WLondon/SManchester) whom they would recommend?

I would estimate the need for a Luton Van for the move

If you only need a luton, you can hire & drive that with an ordinary driving licence. It will be much much cheaper to rent one for the weekend and DIY. 3 days hire with a tail lift will be under £200.

Otherwise, you'll be looking at sharing a removals van with someone else (and having to work with eachother's dates), or paying for a whole removal van which is half empty.

We used Cheshire Removals from South Manchester only to East Manchester but know they deliver internationally as well.

Don't think they were the cheapest but they were recommended to us and they were excellent and very efficient.

Self Drive not really an option. GF can not do much physical work for long and does not have a driving license so she does not want me packing, driving up, unpacking, driving down, driving car back to Manchester. we need to move midweek so help is obviously unavailable.

I will check Cheshire Removals. - Thanks Cactusgirl

I'm doing SE London to Wales and Passion moves has worked out cheapest so we're using them. They're at http://www.passionmoves.co.uk/

Not moving till the end of next week so I can't say I've used them and they're brilliant, just that they're competitive. We got quotes from a couple of other firms such as A1, Monarch and Badger that are London-wide - I did post about it ages asgo as I was amazed they varied between 1k and about 2.3k - eek! Ask again in 10 days and I'll let you know!

    I recommend these guys

    http://www.manandvans.com/

Used them recently, theres no fee for cancelling or amending the time right up to the day of moving, they call you the day before to confirm, worked hard and didnt add any surcharges, even a congestion charge.

Edit - they have testimonials on their site now - one of thems mine!

We used GB Liners to move and store our stuff when moving from Warrington to Hampshire. They were very good but I suspect may be too 'big' for your requirements.

Their main office is in Herefordshire but they also have depots in Altrincham and London (and other places)

These guys are great, they have moved us 3 times. Not sure if they are the cheapest availaible but I really can't fault them, they made the whole thing as stress free as it's ever gonna get ! Based in Acton I think..but cover quite an area.
