:hello:
I enter lots of comps so a fair bit of *clciking* is invloved.
I always start off well and then the links stop working.
My browers *flashes* as if the new window is gonna open but it doesnt.
I have to reboot to make it work again.
This has happened on more than one computer.
Any ideas what I'm doing or how I can resolve without rebooting?
Thanks in advance.

What operating system, what browser, what version?
I assume you are opening new windows for each link rather than using tabbed browsing?
(Opening new windows can slow the PC down much more than using tab browsing and opening a new tab for each site / link)0 -

Ok hands up straight away - this isn't a solution, but a workaround (and over kill at that).
But if you know that it's happening and all you want is to be able to continue without restarting, do the following:
Step 1
Open Notepad
(Start > Run > notepad)
Step 2
Paste the following in:@echo off setlocal set exeName=%~1 if "%~1"=="" set exeName="iexplore" if "%exeName%"=="" echo Processing aborted&pause&goto :EOF call :GETNAME "%exeName%" set found= for /f "tokens=*" %%a in ('tasklist ^| findstr /i "%fileName%"') do set found=Y if "%found%"=="Y" call :endiexplore taskkill /f /im "cmd.exe" :GETNAME @cls set fileName=%~nx1 goto :EOF :endiexplore @echo off @cls taskkill /f /im "iexplore.exe" @cls "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" taskkill /f /im "cmd.exe" exit goto :EOF
Step 3
Save as iefix.bat <---- important that it's .BAT, not .txt. and save it to the desktop.
Step 4
Next time it happens run the file. SHOULD be problem solved.

Might be something simple like a pop-up blocker. You could try holding down the ctrl key whilst clicking on the link.0

I have the exact same problem when I am entering a lot of competitions on here. I open each comp in a new tab and not a new window. I am also using vista and IE7. The only solution I find is to re-start the computer.:hello:

You tried my suggestion above?

To find the version of IE. Help menu > About.
IE7
Try using Firefox instead it's a great browser.
Downloaded and ready to try
Also right click on a link and choose "open" to see if that makes a difference when you experience this problem.
Tried this but when the OP problem is occuring then right click doesnt work either :rolleyes:Ok hands up straight away - this isn't a solution, but a workaround (and over kill at that).
