Well, you could get a Freeview box and simply plug it in...soulandy wrote:I have a tv card

Or this: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=Z9G&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=hauppauge&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=0
There is a USB one for £70 too.0 -
If you go to :-
http://www.tv-cards.com/
there's a lot of useful info about tv cards for your p.c.
Generally, any card that says it will show DVB or digital free channels will pick up Freeview and allow you to watch it on the pc.
The only real differences as such are the means to timeshift telly (watch it an hour after its started), pause live telly (and carry on afterwards) and record programmes. Also some *wont* have adaptors to plug aeriels in so make sure it's mentioned.0 -
@Soulandy
The TV card has to have a digital terrestrial tuner to get digital terrestrial signals. The bonus of this scheme is the information received is very close to mpeg standards that it can be archived to DVD with little effort. This information received will have no loss of quality as it does not have to be transcoded/compressed further in real time like many PVR analogue tuner cards. You may need an aerial distribution amp to drive the card as they rarely have an aerial out socket. The ones that do can have a lot of computer noise on the output.

I've been using this card in my PC for almost two years and it is superb, Freeview TV and Radio is crystal clear (took a feed from the roof top aerial).
There have been a number of software upgrades from Twinhan who produce it and the most recent allows diqital TV to be recorded direct to DVD as well as the hard drive.
It has also recently recieved Microsoft Media Centre Edition approval if you happen to be running that, does anyone run that ?
