i'm the seller. it was my buyer who wanted a refund after removing tags and wearing the item.

i explained that i could not refund for items that were not returned in their original condition.

he has sent me the postage costs to return them to him, and hopefully that will be the end of the matter.

I sold some new hair starighteners buyer decided after using them that she didnt like them and filed a paypal dispute and they agreed in her favour so be careful. they said she has to return it in the original condition which isnt going to be the case as shes used it but they dont check it just assume she has

i read your thread just now. what on earth did she say was wrong with them?

fortunately my buyer didn't return them by a trackable method so unless they start a paypal dispute and then send them back to me again by a trackable method after receiving them back then i should be ok.

they have already paid postage 3 times! original postage, postage to return to me and postage for me to return back to them, i would hope they will just leave it at that now!

i said they could relist as used and use my description and pictures if it helped them

It probably went in her favour because you didn't respond to the dispute as you closed your paypal account.

also if someone returns something due to item not fitting and wants an exchange in a different size can i ask them for the postage again? or do i have to pay to send the 2nd item to them?

That depends, if the size is as stated and the buyer has bought the wrong item then then it is their fault, if they ask "will it fit size x or y"" and you say yes then it is your fault. It is all a bit trickier by mail order.

For the record I offer 14 day returns on buy it now and 7 days on auctions. I think the listing forms haven't quite caught up with all the changes yet as the option to enter 7 days on buy it nows is pointless.

yes the size is as stated, i sell a lot of them with no problems at all with people buying their usual size.

they said they were returning them on monday but i've not received them back yet. so maybe they aren't going to bother.
