Hotpoint Oven Spares

The glass door of the main oven of my Hotpoint built-in oven broke and I replaced it from Hotpoint spares but when it arrived it was a different brown to the 'brown ,'of my oven and matching hob. After trying other spares suppliers and much to-ing and fro-ing it seemed it is impossible to get a match. The oven is nearly 8 years old.
I wrote to Hotpoint and have today received a reply in which they say that although they aim to hold spare parts for up to 10 years from cessation of production of a product, sometimes their supplier ceases to supply the part and the part is deemed obsolete. In the case of my oven, therefore, I am left with a mismatched oven and hob, both of which are working well.
My advice to forum readers, therefore, is don't risk buying a 'brown' or 'green' etc., oven because it could become very difficult to get matching spares in quite a short time. I suggest you go for 'black', 'stainless steel' or 'white' to avoid this happening to you.
