Ryanair airport check in Help

It requires one to have EU/UK passport to be able to check in online. If not, you HAVE to check in at the airport and pay 8 quid extra for that. RIDICULUOS!
Last time I had to pay that and do the airport check in, but noticed that they did not check if those 'online check in' had UK/EU passport.
So, can I just say that I do have UK/EU passport and get on with it without paying that extra 8 quid. Anyone done that? Advice pls.

I would only try it if you wanted to risk not being allowed to board!
You can claim the check in fee back if you are not allowed to check in online.Gone ... or have I?0 -
I have flown with easy jet twice and the last time each way i stated i tried to check in online though it failed and all i got was information on what i could carry...
In both directions i did not have to pay.0 -
I take it from this thread that you now have a flight and no longer need help here?
if you don't have a passport are you travelling with other means of ID?0 -

I did not have a flight at time of that posting but was considering ryanair, thus decided to ask the question. Finally decided to bbok ryanair and not taking any risks - so just paid that extra quids, sadly!
Thanks to those who replied anyways. !0
