We just got a new camcorder for the school's tech department and we went for a Sony. It arrived today and seems to work fine. You can use either memory cards or DVD-RWs so it doesn't take a ridiculously long time to transfer videos onto a PC.0

whats the battery life like on it?Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
My Sony which is a couple of years old usually lasts a day on one charge.
Depends very much on how you use it.
I tend not to review anything as that uses up battery life. Look at stuff later when it is plugged into the mains.
never had any issues0 -

just got a canon fs10 - which has 8gb onboard and a slot for extra flash cards
from the little chance we have had to play with it today it seems a great little camcorder
battery life is about 3 hours0 -
For our holidays the last 2 ive owned were absolute rubbish.
I want 1 with a good pic quality and long battery life. Our last samsung only lasted for 15 mins of recording!
I dont care if its DVD or HDD. Can anyone recommend which is better between the 2 formats?
Also, can anyone recommend what to buy and / or what not to buy?
Sorry to jump in here but does "the memory effect" still exist? I was looking at the low battery life.

Not really.
You want to know how long the battery will last as opposed to how it will be affected by the way it is charged0
