The newspaper!! My name went in the paper after the judge said it would not

Hi Everyone

Just wanted people comments on what i should do

When i went BR the judge had wrote a letter to the OR to confirm my name would not go in the paper. As this was the company i worked for and would affect my job for lots of reasons.

When i check the advert before we went to print to my shock all my details had been put on the advert i tried my best to stop it from going in but at the time i noticed we had already started printing. Nothing i could do it went in the paper and i had to have a meeting with the MD and also with some of my customers (not good). I phoned the OR and all they said was sorry and it was an admin error!!!!!

Im so upset and angry should i say something to them or what should i do? as it has already gone in the paper

Oh Leila, I'm so sorry. Not sure what you can do really now - it's in the past, and you are having to handle the consequences. Not particularly satisfying for you to hear them say 'admin error, sorry' but what else can they do??

    So sorry mate :(

    Sorry to hear that Leil.

There is a complaints procedure you can go through. Whats done is done but you should still get a proper apology and it it may help your OR office to highlight a training need to ensure it doesnt happen again x x x

When i phoned up to ask how this had happen the women on the phone was really rude and told me BR does affect my life and started going on about that it was not a big deal as people will find out anyway. I got really upset and asked her not to be so rude as i am aware of how BR would affect my life and i was dealling with that. Just feel let down already by the whole thing as i should of checked it would not have gone in as i was stupid enought to just trust that i had the letter stamped and confirmed it would not be printed that that is what would of happened. I just really hope my customers dont start asking to deal with someone else as i deal with big customers managing thier advertising budgets some people can be very funny after knowing about someone going BR.

    Hi Leilag

    Ohh Sweetie thats awful!!

I know lots say that no-one reads the paper but it does`nt help when its there in black & white.

Take deep breaths & take it on the chin...you have taken the responsible route after having taken professional, informed advice.

When do you see the MD? & unless you work in FSA, Legal or Police then your personal finances have no bearing on any part of your employment.

I have often felt that the publication in the papers is an infringement on your `data protection ` status.

You shouldn't have to listen to that sort of rudeness - I would complain about her attitude for a start

i always thought it was a legal requirement for a notice in the paper but at the end of the day I am sure not many folks actually read those notices

There are exceptions although these are rare but to renage on an agreement is just not on.

As Dez says there are exceptions but with Leila the Judge had agreed that due to her position that the advert would be put in a different paper.

Sorry but this has happened on several occassions that i know to. One young girl had an extreemly violent ex and his family and she did not want them finding her. The judge said he would withold publication and yes you guessed it they printed her name and ADDRESS. Just got to hope your clients are so narrow minded that they let your bc cloud their judgment. I know thats not a lot of good to you now but i hope it serves as a warning to others.D
