Funeral Ashes Help

My dad sadly passed away and he was cremated, my mum was given the ashes and when she went to lay him to rest she said that they didn't look like ashes.
I have tried to look on the internet but can't find any answers. My mum is angry and upset as she doesn't think it was dad. She says that the noticed there were a lot of small hard balls. A bit like polysterein balls but harder.
Please any help to put my mums mind to rest, would be very greatful/

I find it hard to believe that they would go to the effort of cremating your dad and then not give your mum his real ashes.0 -

So sorry about your dad berzolla. Your poor mum what a horrible thought for her. I found this page LinkQuestion #5: What do ashes look like?
Answer: Ashes are calcium deposits that look like small chunks of crushed white coral. Most people mistakenly think they look like black ashes from a fire.
I hope this put's your mum's mind at rest.Booo!!!0 -

So sorry about your loss.I know from my brother who has crematorium experience that the long bones take a long time to burn and they often leave big ashes that need put through the grinder. These bones can look quite like coral(rather holey) when cremated. This is probably what your mother saw as round balls of coral like substance, the result of long bone residue put through the grinder.0

Thanks for much for your kind thought.
As had never seen ashes before we were not sure what they looked like. I will read all your replies to my mum when she comes down on Saturday.
Thanks to you all once again.:A0 -
