oh dear.... do you have accidental damage insurance on your contents policy?
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.

If it's going to be saved, I'd expect the same solution as for a mobile to be the most likely one to work.

Do not switch it on, open it as much as possible and dry it out in the hotpress for a week or so and then try to switch it on.

    Wouldn't hold much hope though.

  • If you've removed the battery and memory card and left it to dry out there is hope... remember that these things will be designed to cope with a bit rain so there's a chance they might survive a dunking if rescued quickly. Just don't be tempted to re-insert the battery and test it too soon - give it at least 2-3 days to dry our properly. A desiccant such as silica gel or those £1 shop shoe freshener sachet things might help.

We put ours (a Praktica) and a mobile phone in the airing cupboard for a week (after taking out all the bits and bobs) after DD had put them through the washing machine!! Both sprang back into life!
