Scroll bar help please!

I have an acer laptop and until recently the scroll bar ( middle button that rocks back and forth thereby moving the pages up and down) has stopped working and I cant work out how to fix it.
Can anyone help? please bear in mind that I am not very technically minded!!

Try clicking "start" then "controll pannel" and then look for mouse.

There are settings in there for the wheel..

sorry if i have confused you.
I am using a laptop with no mouse.
There are three buttons on the front, the middle one rocks back and forth to move the page up and down......well, should do! mine doesnt.....

mine is doing the same thing. only bought it a couple weeks ago. cursor keeps moving as well when im not touching the touchpad. ive noticed if its playing up and i close the lid til it hibernates and open it it works perfectly. i might take it back to pc world
