Renovating A Parquet Floor?

We have a lovely dark wood parquet floor in our hall, when we moved in we couldnt afford to renovate so stuck down new cheap carpet.

Now we want to have the lovely wood floor, but it needs some renovation.

The corking round the outside edge is all crumbling so needs replacing and some other minor areas need some work, it would also i think need stripping back and re-varnishing/sealing.

Who would I contact to get a quote? I dont even know who to start with  would it be a wooden flooring specialist?

Look in the Yellow Pages for Flooring Services and you'll find companys that restore wooden floors. I had a quote recently for the restoration of an old parquet flooring (approx 14ft x 20ft) of £500. Hope that helps.
