HIi i'd like to know-what network location i should be on -i don't share files or anything with other computers -so should i be on private (i work from home)

Can you explain what you mean by "network location"? There are IP address ranges that are defined for use by private networks - and cannot be routed out on the public internet - but it's not clear if that's what you mean.
Or perhaps you're referring to VPNs and whether you should be using one?0 -
Are you using Vista and asking which choice you should make for your network connection (Private/Home/Public)?0

Home will suffice. File Sharing isn't enabled by default anyway and you can check that in the Network Control Center.0
