Virus alert on taskbar

Hi.

In a bit of trouble here,

Task bar has disappeared and BSOD appears now and again.I have run several different anti virus scans but no joy.

even though I can download virus removal tools I can't access them or other programmes once downloaded.

Home page has been set to something else.

Avirus alert keeps uploading on main screen and next to clock before the bar goes.

Any ideas please.

Can you boot in to safe mode and then run a scan?

Superantispyware is picking vundo up at the moment.

I will try the above link later.

antivirus xp 2008 I think was the main one on the computer.

will keep you updated

I'd follow up with a full scan of the PC with your antivirus in safe mode

Thanks for the advice,ended up rebooting in the end but did manage to save my files.
