Please Help, My Menus Have Disappeared

Hello
When I right click or click on File or anything, the menus are invisible until I scroll over them.
I've run a few things to check the computer out - AVG, CleanUp!, Adaware and now I'm running housecall, but they aren't finding anything.
Any ideas please?

use system restore to go back to an earlier date when it was ok
