    i live in a very hard water area and the clothes are not softer at all.
    i am going to try using the limescale removers to see if that helps.
    there is a product for that too, which is eco-friendly, called magno ball or magnetic ball or similar. my friend uses it in her dishwasher and recommends.

    I use Borax in my washing machine, it helps a lot. Also use it for many other things too.

    They also do a Clean & Natural version, which doesn't seem to be on their site.

    Their white vinegar is really good for cleaning too.
