Temporary Hold Pending Investigation

Morning

I sold a Tempo sat nav, this is the listing : 150262775214

The buyer emailed me to tell me that i forgot to include the memory card (this was sent through my ebay messages but i have deleted this message) and sent this on recorded delivery at my expense. I have the other message sent through ebay saying 'thanks' <== alot of use that is!

I woke up this morning to find that there is a claim for unauthorised use or something like that. I have (very lucky or so i thought) kept the tracking number and have supplied paypal with this number but paypal came back saying that it couldnt determine that it had been delivered. ARGHHHHH

Is there anything else that i can do? I was surprised as it went for a lot more than i expected. Now i know why!!!!

Anyone help????

Did you send the sat nav by special delivery or recorded delivery? Your listing mentions both. If special delivery there have not been any tracking problem that I am aware of but recorded delivery is a bit hit and miss. Was the buyers address confirmed?
  • Log onto the Royal Mail site and enter the tracking number and see what it says.

If you sent it Special you'll have no issues. If you sent it Recorded then you might.

If it doesn't arrive just get the buyer to return the base unit and then refund them.

Thanks for your replies folks. I'm actually on holiday and have relied on someone at home to look through the paperwork and find the receipt.

The receipt they have found is for the memory card proof of posting and i cant find the other one. I've lost it. So im stuffed. An expensive mistake that wont happen again!

only bonus is that the sat nav is crap.

I will not let this ruin my holiday! :-)

    Thanks for your help!!

You could well have a dodgy buyer here as a lot of their feedback is from seller ukccp who sells a lot of rubbish and has only been registered 1 month. They also bought an iphone a few weeks ago and left neutral feedback but the item looked mint to me.

Agreed. Also a wee bit daft to send the sat nav recorded and not SD.

I made the mistake once by sending a mobile to an unverified paypal address and lost £200 - never again!

The listing says collection in person or SD only so the OP must have sent it SD.

Erm sorry but I don't agree, all of the feedback from ukccp is for the same style of item. I have previously used 1 seller and bought approx 24 diferent items from them, it doesn't make me a dodgy buyer though!
