Has anyone heard of or used Only Insurance?

Had my home contents renewal forms through today from More Th>n and each year the premium keeps going up so decided to shop around this afternoon for a better quote.
Only Insurance came up trumps on two separate comparison sites with an unbelievably low premium of just £50  which is just a third of what More Th>n wanted.
I'd never previously heard of them but this policy is with Legal & General so I'm presuming there shouldn't be any problems with them.
Just want to run it past the experts here first though before commiting to buying it :A

Hi there
Only Insurance appears to be another insurance search engine, much line Confused.com. They get a commission on each policy that is sold via their website, but do not actually provide any insurance themselves.
They have not been going long; their website was only set up this year so I wonder what their financial backing is like. They are not listed on Quidco for cash back, so if I were you, I would see whether the 2nd cheapest comes up better when you get cashback from Quidco. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
I gave up on Quidco a long time ago as nothing ever tracked with them. The insurance policy they quote for me is with Legal & General which, as far as I'm aware, is one of the leading insurance co's and I would be bound by their T&C's which all seem to be ok.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

What about homeinsurer.co.uk. They quoted more than £400 CHEAPER than Halifax's renewal quote for my home insurance. Is it too good to be true? Or should I go for a more 'recognised' insurance provider? Help pleaseQUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0

I'm not sure about your case, but you need to be clear who is arranging the insurance and who is providing it.
e.g. in the case of Only insurance it was provided by L&G which is a big name.
You can often find that some of these websites are providing policies for big names, so make sure you don't get mixed up between broker and insurer.0 -

If you have had nothing track then it's likely the problem is at your end.
Have you been through the help and troubleshooting pages and made sureyou've got cookies enabled etc?0 -

Thanks for that. I just called them and they said PARAGON/great lakes provide the insurance, been operating for 25 years. Think I might take it:DQUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0 -
£50 - surely this must be like minimum cover?0

I have just used this fairly new 'scrapper' to try and identify a Buildings & Contents product.
After completing personal details, I then chose to 'untick' the box therefore denying them permision to use/pass on my contact details, I also indicated that I could not understand their complex terms & conditions'!
As expected I could not proceed to get their quotes, but better that then have my privacy invaded.
However I almost immediately had notice of new email. It was from them! Surely by 'unticking' they should have deleted my contact details from their records. I will try to get them to remove my profile. What a waste of my time.

This is one of the problems of the price comparision sites, they want to be able to contact you, expect emails etc from them this time next year.
Some of them do include this as in effect they are passing your details on to a third party eg the Insurers they are getting quotes from. You will often get calls from these other companies as well....0 -

This is not accurate.
Only Insurance are an off-shoot of Only Finance which has been around for a long time. There are also two parts of Only Insurance One is an Insurance Intermediary that uses a panel of Insurers to place business with, the other is an aggregator as Oscar has stated. However, if 'Only Insurance' has quoted on another aggregator as stated by the OP then this will be the Intermediary. I know it sounds confusing but it is exactly the same as Budget but on a smaller scale - they have Comparethemarket/meerkat as well as their own Broking arm which appears on all the other aggregators under various guises (M&S, Yes, HSBC, Ibuyeco etc etc). I think the idea behind 'Only' using the same name on everything was along the same lines as Easyjet with Easyrental, Easythis & Easythat etc.All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0
