Hi all
I've just spotted rust around the bleed valve, probably where it didnt shut properly. Also doesn't look very nice.
The radiator is is good condition otherwise.
Does anyone have any ideas on if I could 'repair' this ie. remove the rust and seal around where it's leaking or do I need to change the radiator..?
Thanks a lot
Terry

If you can get the bleed valve to shut off properly, now, I would redecorate the radiator and handle the bleed valve with care in the future. If the bleed valve is damaged it may be possible to contact the company that made the original radiator and get a replacement valve.
I would only replace the radiator as a last resort.PLEASE DO NOT STEAL

If the corrosion is only on the outside and the valve is ok then clean it up and paint over it.
If the valve is duff then if it is the type you can replace with a spanner then do so, they stock them at local DIY sheds.
replacing the rad should be the last thing you do but its not that difficult to DIY if you really need to.0 -
I repainted my whole rad last time I decorated.
Just mask off most of the wall and floor, and buy a can of white enamel spray and away you go.....NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0
