Use notepad and encrypt the text file using something like AX Crypt?

Roboform suits me fine. Free version has a limited number of passcards but with the Pro version you can download to a USB pen.icon10.gif
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Thanks everyone for your replies. Excellent idea but I can install neither KeePass nor PasswordSafe (they seem related) as I get "encountered illegal instructions" when I click on the .exe file to install or get "file corrupted" for the .zip file!!!!!!

P.S. During my search I came across https://www.passwordsafe.com which looked good as you can access your passwords online from any computer. Has anyone tried it? :o

No, but if you look here:

    http://www.passwordsafe.com/faq/

it says: "While we take every security precaution, we do not recomnmend storing sensitive information such as bank account passwords."

  • Would it be ok to make an excel chart with all your passwords.
Password protect the file, if putting the file onto a pen/usb drive would the file still be password protected when opening up on a different computer?

I use a freeware programme called PINS, it doesn't install, is encrypted and I run it from a floppy so nothing at all is stored on my system. Highly recommended, works well.

I wouldn't advise it for sensitive data. The password protection in Excel is not very secure, and there are numerous utilities out there that will 'find' the password.
