When I worked there, the official stance was you get back the difference.
Customer Services used to have discretion to offer more though. I sometimes did, depending on the circumstances.Amazon sellers club - member number 63.
January challange - sell 10 items. 0 down, 10 to go!0 -
We have learnt to check our reciept now..considering they are at the more expensive end of the market, it's silly that they have such a rubbish policy compared to tesco, asda etc.
i may get a small triumph over the mthough..if I'm brave enough!
OH always forgets to produce our nectar card so we have an envelope where we keep reciepts. I checked it on saturday and counted that we were owed 911 points, so took it into customer services to get them added.
The woman spent ages counting them up, added them to the card then handed back card and envelope of recipets!
I didn't even realise until we got home.
Now am I brave enough to take them in again..i'm worried we'll be 'rumbled'..heheheMembre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
I always check my receipts and have found Sainsbury to be one of the worst offenders. I have said to c.s. several times that I feel sorry for the many people who never check and are therefore conned out of extra money all day every day. They make a fortune from those customers and I meanwhile stand waiting at the desk to finally have the overcharge returned and no compensation given. Even occasionally having to return to the store,, having left it till I got home to check, and still nothing for my time or journey!0

I've had a running battle with sainsburys on this and get fobbed off constantly
i now have to check every reciept loudly and publicly in the storeCymru Am Byth0 -
i always check the receipts, once i managed to get a refund of about £7.50 off a £50 shop due to the till not recognising offers, what gets me is that although i mention it at the till, (usually when the items are being scanned) about the offers on particular product, i have to detour to customer services to get my refund, which in turn often leads to leading the customer service advisor around the store to see and check the offers, this is not funny when you are shopping with 2 small children.Give blood - its free0

I always check the receipts at Sainsbury's as often things don't go through the way they should. Tesco's are the only supermarket making Billion Pound profits, they have a third of the market and growing. They can afford to loose money or rather their suppliers can afford to loose money. I don't see why the rest should follow suit just because Tesco's does something.0
