American style fridge freezer

Hi all
Just bought and plumbed in a Samsung american style fridge freezer. This may be a silly question (am broad shouldered) but shouldn't the water dispenser dispense chilled water? Ours gives us ice cubes but the water is as cold as it comes out of the tap, definitely not chilled. Anyone else got this problem? Thanks

I've had a Samsung American fridge for about 4 years now without any problems at all. No - the water is not chilled as it comes from the supply, through the filter straight to the dispenser without chilling. You can chill it using ice from the icemaker which is what I do.
However - moneysaving tip - don't use the water filters that your supplier recommends. I get mine from ebay for about £12 and the water tastes great and lasts for 6 months (the filter not the water).
Enjoy.

I have the Samsung RS21J as featured in the post and on Watchdog. Samsung fixed it for free outside of the Warranty and extended the warranty FOC to 5 years was 3 years old at the time. The model I have has chilled water there is a storage tank at the bottom of the fridge at the back not that you can see it but this was one of the issues with the known fault as the water froze up and stopped the water dispenser working.Cheers
