Telephoning home from France

Hi All

Does anyone own a property in France and know the cheapest number to use to telephone home (UK) from a landline?

3 cents/min to UK, and they are English speaking if you need to contact them. It's worth noting that if you look on some of the expat forums, there are 'advantage codes' which give you and the referrer 4 hours of free calls when you sign up.

You could try Telesoldes or Telerabais, sister companies to 1899 and Telediscount. Or Appeldiscount. At the moment the last two are cheaper - local call rate 0811 number.

There will be many more - do a Google search for telephone moins cher or similar.

I have ADSL form Free and all calls within France using the Frre phone are free and UK is about 3c per min and I have a SKYPE phone and using that to another SKYPE user is free throughout the world and SKYPEout ie me using the SKYPE phone to a land line anywhere in the world is 2 c per minute.

Skype out is only 2c a min to some destinations,not anywhere in world .Have you checked out what they charge to call UK ngn and mobile numbers.Talk about a rip off :mad: Even then the 2c calls equate to approx 1.2p a min.Which is not cheap these days,especially if calling uk landlines.

Calls to a Skype allocated geo numbers are bad quality.Skype admit this.

Skype to Skype call quality is ok.
