Ipaq 3630 question

lic
lic Posts: 275 Forumite
I have just bought the above model from ebay.
I know it is old, but is supposed to have internet access on it.
Although it does not come wifi enabled, by using the expansion pack and a wifi card, I beleive you can use it to surf the net via hotspots.
My problem is although the device in sync'd with my PC; I cannot get the card to work as I cannot install the software on the ipaq direct.
If anyone has any knowledge of how to do this please could you let me know.
Thanks in advance.

You need to install the iPaq software suite on the PC which I assume you have. From the PC Suite, you should be able to install the driver software for the Wifi card off the installation CD that came with it.

    thanks for the reply Connor.

As you have probably guessed I am a techie thickie. The CDF i got with the device is merely an information cd it has no progs on it.
When you say PC suite, do you mean the software that came with the device, or the software that came with the card?
I have searched through and cannot find any info on internet or on the disc provided.

    Thanka again

The software that came with the iPaq. There should be a file on the CD for the wifi adapter as well that isn't an executable as you'd expect for Windows but is a file the iPaq PC suite would recognise as a Windows Mobile installer.

See if anything here is of use:
