At my WH Smiths they hand you the Horrible History books with the newspaper and don't ask for the voucher so i suppose you could take the voucher back later and get another copy.
Do you know if they would give you yesterday's book if you had the token? Or is it just on the day? Anyone tried?
EDIT- I see that surfsister managed to do this in her shop!

I suspect it depends on the assistant - I picked one up on Tuesday and was asked if I had the previous days (so probably could have had it as well if I'd wanted)... at the end of the day they have a pile of books behind the till that they want rid of (though I have had the odd jobsworth insisiting that I tear out the token and fill it in before they'll hand over the goodies) - nothing to lose by asking.
Wins so far this year: It's been a quiet year so far :)
