THE HELP

It's available until 23:59 on August 6th

I already have this one, and it has incredibly good voice acting and a good story. Really great audiobook.
For those signing up for this, does taking it make you subscribe to a trial audible account if you aren't already a customer? The terms at the bottom suggest they don't.
Edit: Can confirm that as an existing member with 2 credits in my account, I was able to download The Thousand Autumns for free -- it did not touch my credits.0 -
Thanks for the heads up.
I've linked my 'Amazon' account to Audible.
I had to delete an Audible subscription £3.99 monthly plan from my basket, automatically appeared there (seems like you get cheaper audible books if you sign up to a plan)0 -
Apologies for veering off-topic as this post is not about a new audio/video freebie but I thought those who downloaded "The Help" audiobook might be interested to know there's a film of the same title coming to the big screen on 28th Oct 2011.

8 Track Live album - TINARIWEN
Not many groups really merit being described as rebel rockers, but Tinariwen are one. Based in the Sahara in northern Mali, this band of Tuareg musicians first came together in a series of refugee camps, and members of the group once actively engaged in rebellion against their government. Drawing as heavily on the likes of Jimi Hendrix as on the protest music of north Africa, the band have since become one of the most successful "world music" acts on the planet.
Touring relentlessly, they have released four albums, the last of which, Imidiwan, won the 2009 Uncut Music Award for being "the most inspiring and richly rewarding album of the last 12 months".
The group's new album, Tassili, was recorded in southern Algeria and is released by V2 on 29 August. To mark this, the band have specially recorded an eight-track album, Live at Bouffes du Nord, which is available as an exclusive download below.
It's available until 23:59 on Wednesday August 24th

Free COLDPLAY Album

THE SUNDAY TIMES
Sunday 18th September
This weekend The Sunday Times is giving you the first seven tracks of an amazing, hand-picked Coldplay album on iTunes.
Simply buy your favourite Sunday newspaper and redeem this brilliant selection of Coldplay classics with the information provided.
You can complete your free album by collecting the next five tracks in The Times each day next week – including 3 tracks from the band’s new, unreleased work.
So, if I've read it correctly, that's 12 tracks in total - 7 on Sunday and 1 per day next Monday to Friday
Presumably these will be downloads from iTunes - with a daily link redemption - the first of which may be via an individual code basis.

Starting on Saturday 16th as part of their 6-week book season, the Grauniad and Observer are giving away a series of 7 audiobook downloads of John Le Carr! books. They're being very coy about how this is to happen so I've no further details at present. Please post if you find out before me how to get them.0
