Bump- I wonder if the cd is original recordings or not? As we have a couple of these and the ones from the soundtrack are so much better.

Saw an ad on TV last night. The Weekend Independents are each doing a Spanish CD, then through the week they are giving away a ' Rough Guide' to a different Spanish city every day next week.

The Lonely Planet travel guides are for Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Bilbao and Murcia.

Also, there is a Catherine Cookson TV-movie starring Nigel Havers free with Saturday's Daily Mail. Looks like some kind of period drama set in 19th century England.

Saw an ad on TV last night. The Weekend Independents are each doing a Spanish CD, then through the week they are giving away a ' Rough Guide' to a different Spanish city every day next week.

It's actually a CD on Saturday and a PHRASE BOOK on Sunday.
Also here are details of the guides' contents(Mon - Fri) produced with LONELY PLANET.

Starting Saturday 16 February, The Independent is launching a seven-day promotion to help you discover the real Spain.

This essential series will enable you to learn the language and experience the culture before you go.

Collect the free Spanish language CD on Saturday 16, which follows three friends during their stay in Barcelona. Throughout the 60-minute CD you will listen to their conversations to learn how to check-in at the airport, find a place to stay, order drinks and ask what there is to see.

The accompanying pocket-sized phrasebook is free with The Independent on Sunday on 17 February. Containing a pronounciation guide and glossary, as well as all of the key phrases you need to know, you will gain the confidence to communicate effectively.

Then from Monday 18 – Friday 22 February collect the five Spanish city guides, produced in association with Lonely Planet. Each 32-page guide contains information on the history of the city, sights and activities, restaurants and accommodation.

    Monday – Barcelona
    Tuesday – Madrid
    Wednesday – Bilbao
    Thursday – Seville
    Friday – Valencia

Yes I know - I posted the info on the Newspaper thread about an hour ago but this offer doesn't "count" as a FREE GIVEAWAY since LOVEFILM subscriptions and rentals will be involved.
