Hello all,
My situation is that i am moving into a new proprety at the end of the month which is a 4 in a block 2 bed flat.
currenlt we are in a rented accomidation which is approx the same size as the one we are moving into. Currently the gas is paid by the lanlord so we don't see it, however the electricity is pre meter which costs approx 30 pound per month.
was hoping for opinions on the best way forward for us......
we are 2 fulltime working adults is the eon fixed price (v16) a good opton for peace of mind
cheers for looking
ps.. looking to pay quarterly bill as i have heard nothing but bad stories about the monthly dd being variable.

I can fully appreciate the worries you have with anything other than paying on receipt of bill
I think you have 2 basic issues here.
(1) you have no real idea at present what your consumption will be in your new place
(2) by not accepting payment by monthly DD, you'll be penalised by most companies because they offer good discounts for paying by DD.
I would suggest 1 of 2 options.
(a) stay with whatever supplier you automatically get when move to the new property until, say Christmas, by which time you'll know roughly what half (and hence, bearing in mind the seasons, probably all) your annual usage is.
(b) if you want to switch supplier asap, you'd probably do a lot worse than switch to ebico who charge the same amount however you pay and tend to be quite competitive for low users anyway.
If they end up not being the best choice, you could always switch again about Christmas time when you have a better idea of actual consumption."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
