I really dont think the poster intended to be nasty, i think it was meant as a little light humoured "tongue n cheek", There is a possibility that its NOT the PSU, this being the case your advice may well prove essential, which i why its good that you did bother.

Hi Jasper. You did the right thing, good on you, laddie. I tend to say too little a give really just the basics ask for, if any OP wants more they can come back. Giving good clear and consise instructions here is difficult, trying to avoid techno speak, but sometime you have to use it....and giving step by step instructions, wow, very difficult. Keep up the good work. Type a bit and chuck it into the pot as well.

just to let you all know it was the psu and when we fitted it everything worked perfectly. thank you all for your kind advice it was very much appreciated.:j
