Increasing Paging File????

I keep getting the pop up saying something like 'not enough memory, windows is increasing it's paging file, in the meantime some stuff may not work'....
So.... I Googled it and found out the way to increase the paging file (I have no clue what this actually is!). It said to just increase it.... but mine says that it's already too big
(it recommends 285MB but mine's already 434MB)

Now I haven't got a clue about any of this so I would be very grateful if someone could tell me what I need to do in very simple baby language.
Mr Skint...I DID Google...I DID try to find out but Google doesn't help when you're a thicko like me

Your page file should be approximately 2.5 times your physical memory
eg, 512mb 1.25gb page file. Its normally best to let windows manage it but you could try settign the minimum and maximum to being 2.5 times ram and you have a swap brick

1.5x RAM is normally suggested but there's no harm in having it larger.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

blinky is right,
sorry it s 1.5 times under normal circumstances just so happened i'd configured a server with a specific memory hungry app and had it in my mindDig inside; inside is the fountain of good, and it will forever flow, if you will forever dig.0 -
A common reason for that is underpowered pc , ie ram , or an error like memmory leak frmo a driver , dll or exe.
Look on google for testing for memmory leaks to be sure.0
