Bathrooms and electrics don't mix!

We had some work done to swap a utility room for and ensuite and change a bathroom to a utility room.
B & Q did the job, charged nearly £4000 and that did not include tiling or making good any of the numerous messes they made!
After two weeks of work we are now left because on the final day the electrician arrived to do the electric and he ran away because he said our electrics are dangerous. He did not tell us how or anything...maybe he was suprised by the live plug sockets by the new bath, (if you sit in the bath the plug is at head height at one end and a junction box protruding from the wall where your feet would be, or the other two double sockets in the new ensuite!!
Surely they shoudl have taken these out prior to putting the new ensuite in? We were told by the plumber that we could continue to use the ensuite but we declined on the grounds that we would like to remain unfried!
B & Q are not being terribly helpful so I have written a letter to them and copied it to their credit company who we took out a store card to pay for the works by now pay later jobbie, I believe they are jointly liable and also copy to Qualitas who B & Q are members of and they have a conciliation service with. However when I tried to get B & Q to give me info on the Qualitas concilation they said I could onl;y do this once the installation is complete.....it never will be so what now.
Surely I am right this is terrible and we should be compensated for the whole fiasco.
We are now getting a electricain to put the electric right that B & Q should have done and some other work to remedy some dangerous wiring put in by previous owner of this house. A whole rewire has been quoted as £3000 for a four bed big detached three storey house does this seem reasonable?
Sorry for long post could have gone on alot more about the mess B & Q have made and all the other things that are wrong but decided to stick with this for now!
If it aint broke don't fix it!
God bless
Jan Jan
