help with travel insurance from my bank account

My Dh and I have a joint bank account with LLoyds which has the free travel insurance.

My mum is paying for the 2 of us to go to Eygpt for a week in mid August is this travel insurance enough or should i take out a different policy? The holiday we booked says we need a copy of the policy but this one from the bank says it part of the account we have and just gives a telephone number for if we need to use it.

any advice will be greatfully appreciated.

  • Hi we get an annual WorldWide policy with natwest which is adequate and we use it every time we visit Egypt. I called the number Natwest gave me and they sent me the policy. I suggest you do the same.

Angel if you check the LLoyds website it tells you on there where you are covered for. I know my LLoyds account only covers me for Europe it depends on which level of account you pay for.

    Silver only covers Europe.
Gold Platinum and Premier accounts are worldwide.

If you have one of the latter three accounts just take your account booklet with you on holiday - if travel agent wants to know policy number you tell them LTSB holiday insurance then sort code and account number.

I've got Platinum cover and have used this for a couple of holidays including skiing. If you phone them up they will give you a policy number and tell you exactly what you are covered for (for example I checked the fine detail about skiing off piste - which is covered with an instructor or guide).

You may wish to check about watersports, etc. if you are thinking of doing anything adventurous.

As mentioned above, take your Lloyds TSB Premier (or whatever) booklet with you, as this gives details of your cover and is proof of this if needed. I've written the policy number on the cover.

You don't need to do that.
Read the first page of the travel insurance section - all the information is on there.
