Problems with Safari...

I have Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6) installed on my PowerBook G4. Recently the program has begun to quit 'unexpectedly' when accessing some websites, such a Google Maps and Premier Inn. I'm wondering if I need to download an update of Safari or if something else needs updating such as Flash player?

Firefox 3 has been playing up on certain web sites for me the past couple of days.0 -
I'm a Safari user, and I have to say I've never been impressed with Firefox on the Mac. It would be my browser of choice for Windows, but not for OS X.
The OP should give Camino a try. It's made specifically for the Mac by Mozilla (the people who make Firefox), and the latest version is compatible with OS X 10.3.9.0 -

Thanks so much for this suggestion, just downloaded Camino and now I have no idea why I put up with so many Safari problems for so long, Camino, currently is a breeze! Thanks again:j0 -
Essenchill,
Which model of G4 Powerbook have you got and how much RAM is there in it?
Depending on what it is, it might find OS 10.5 Leopard a bit too heavyweight to deal with but it ought to be able to handle OS 10.4 Tiger alright.
That would be a very worthwhile upgrade - and there is a version of Safari 3.1.2 for OS 10.4 Tiger, too.
If you want Safari.
I agree with Marty about Camino. Some deride it but I like it; it's lean and fast. I use it a lot.
I disagree with him about Firefox 3, though. I like that, as well. Better than I like Safari, that's for sure. I'm sick to death of Safari coming up with "cannot read raw data" when you click on links that worked five minutes ago.
I certainly no longer trust Safari enough to use it for making last-second bids on eBay items.
If you find something that Camino can't do, give Firefox a try.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.
