Glasgow to Heathrow????

Hi all,
Am basicly looking for some help i was ment to fly from glasgow to heathrow on july 18th to get a connecting flight to Australia to start a years backpacking but due to myself having a hernia operation had to cancel for 5 weeks so will now be flying out on the 11th august.

I called BMI who my original flight was with and explained my problem and asked if i could change my dates to the 11th but was told it would be £80 but the bloomin flight only cost me £34 and would be cheaper buying a new ticket.

What i want to know is whats the cheapest was to get to heathrow on the 11th of audgust at any time of the day? if you could help me out that would amazing.

thank you
& god bless

Andrew

P.S tell me what you think about the £80 disgrace of bmi

thanks again

BMI are only doing what all the other airlines including the low cost carriers do. You booked the cheapest fare, when you change the date they will be charging you the difference between the fare you booked and the fare on sale for the date you now want to go on.

BA & BMI are the only airlines that fly from Glasgow to Heathrow, you could get a coach, it's a long way on a coach but will be cheaper

What bmi have asked you to pay is no way a disgrace. They are only asking you to pay the change fee associated with your ticket. You purchased an economy saver ticket at £41 and if you'd have clicked on the "more about economy saver" option, it tells you clearly that the change fee is £80 per change. I don't think its very fair that you bad mouth them on here when they are only carrying out what they promised.

Cheapest fare to fly on 11 August is £41 with bmi and £48 with British Airways. Please remember as well that you are on a seperate ticket to go to Australia so if you're late for your LHR-Australia flight due to late inbound from GLA then you may lose it/have to pay a fee.

Your travel insurance should cover you for the wasted BMI flight (you do have travel insurance I hope).

I travel a couple of times a month on this route. The nature of the beast means i may have to cancel at the last moment because a meeting has been pulled, nothing i can do about it. Because of this i travel business class, or economy saver simply for the flexibility of either cancelling the flight or getting a seat at no charge on the first available earlier (or later) flight home.

You pays you money for the flight that suits you best...

BMI used to do tiny fares b at under £20, don't know if they still offer them.If they do it would have been cheaper than rebooking.

PS, i'll be happy to accept your airmiles if you don't want them :)
