Spa for the girls, pubs for the boys. Somewhere in the South?

Looking for some suggestions please.
We are two couples one with a 10yo girl who would like a hotel for a weekend trip, in a nice town or village somewhere (very) roughly halfway between Watford and Hastings. Somewhere with a Spa for the ladies would be nice, decent pubs for lunch and to occupy the gents while the ladies get beautified would make a perfect weekend away.
If you know of any good deals for Hotels with these features please let me know.
