Buyers Leaving Low Star Ratings
ANGSTDATA
Im sure some buyers are leaving low "star" ratings on purpose so that the sellers exposure is lowered and then so are the bids - they leave a positive and then other usual guff about "highly recommended / will buy from again" etc then leave the lowest star ratings they can
either that or as one poster aptly put "they really do want the moon on a stick"
there is no way to see what star rating is left for you as a seller - so how can you dispute it ?
positive and high feedback and number of years on greedbay aint worth a spank anymore when buyers can just keep marking your stars down and narrowing your selling bandwidth with no comeback

It's almost becoming rare to see buyers leave any feedback, let alone to speculate on them deliberately sabotaging sellers.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

yes maybe - but they leave me pos feedback as I said with the usual A+++ and all that phooey just so I would feel obliged to return feedback "great seller yadda yadda", but in the star ratings which im not privleged to see - mark me right down
or is this just paranoia ?......................or maybe thats what they want me to think !!!0 -
The reason why buyers are demanding the moon on a stick is because e**y is giving them exactly that.
Buyers say, "Boo hoo, I got negged."
e**y says, "Well, we could ask you to just make another account, but we promised the moon on a stick, so how about no negs from sellers any more? We'll throw in the DSRs being anonymous too."
Buyers say, "Ta very much. Now I will rule e**y with impunity!!! Mwahahahaha!!!"

Quite right, Ebay would be a lot better off without any buyers:rolleyes:.0 -
I see you are liking the all new greedbay as much as me - I am tempted to list a pair of shoes with 24 pictres from every angle possible (Auctiva) with the description " womans shoes size 5 ,worn " or something to that effect - maybe even less and I bet the buyer would still mark my description stars (DSR`s thankyou Imagia ) down0

To be blunt, I could not care less what other people think of eBay, I care not for petitions about feedback/searches/fees/visibility etc, but eBay provides me with customers and those I do care about.
I make eBay work for me within the confines of their terms and conditions and it is currently profitable for me. I've been around long enough to know tat I can please all of the people some of the time etc and my feedback/DSR's indicate that my buyers are happy - at least those that do leave feedback these days.
When it becomes unprofitable for me, then I'll use an alternative income stream, web design, fleet consultancy, internet marketing with CPA/CPC affiliate plans etc.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

err .......yeah - thats one of those comments that could go either way really - I guess your sort of not agreeing with me and are somehow atempting to make look silly ?
The post I made was aimed at the person I quoted.
This peculiar notion that buyers shouldn't be pandered to ultimately implies you can get by without them, you can't. Ebay was hemmorrhaging buyers and the whole system needed changing to stop it.
Look after your customers and your feedback and DSRs will look after themselves..0 -
yes I see what you are saying - and that is true - but I believe you get unreasonable buyers as well as unreasonable sellers on ebay - but the balance of power as it were in the land of ebay has been tipped in favour of the buyer0
