Our E.On DD was £73 now gone to £85. (Dual fuel, 3 bed semi.)
I had a quick tally of the bills over the last year and its about right, I have to admit.
I still phoned them and played dumb and desperate (not that hard actually).
The lad said that the DD will be recalculated at each bill, so if my summer consumption is noticeably down then it should pull the DD down next time.

lol makes me laugh, switching to another supply wont fix the issue that your DD's have gone up. ITS WORKED OUT FROM UNITS YOU HAVE USED!!!
If you want to stop your DD's from GOING UP cust back on your consumption. easy as that!!!

    Mine from £50 to £90.
But, I've capped the charges now, & I hope to pay off some of the old balance & get this onto an even footing again.

well if i changed to another supplier that was the same unit price, of course it won't change, if it's cheaper unit prices, of course it WOULD change the price of my DD's as it'll be cheaper fuel.

I've only just moved to Eon and they've upped my DD from around £23 to £50.50 but I'm guessing that's based on the readings we've given them. Still hurts though!

I think the point IKWeb was making is that some people don't seem to concern themselves with the unit price of gas/electricity; their sole concern is the amount payable on the DD.

Thus if they are paying £80 a month, and it increases to £100, then they deduce that prices have risen by 25%.

So if they are offered a cheaper DD with another company, they assume that this company has a cheaper tariff.

As stated on the recent Parlimentary Committee of energy prices, a staggering 20% of consumers swopped companies to a more expensive tariff.
