Got another £180 from DJing a wedding at the weekend, so that's another overpayment winging its way to Abbey.
I got a letter today from Abbey confirming that the first overpayment I sent last week has arrived. (today is OP number 5!) I have asked for the monthly payments to stay roughly the same, and for the term to be decreased. The current expiration date of the mortgage is 15 August 2028. I didn't realise that they would confirm that information each time I make an OP, so I am looking forward to seeing that date creep earlier!MFW - £59,536 outstanding 31 December 2007

well done - I sense you're becoming more than a bit addicted to this...0

I think I probably am, but I guess there's worse things to be addicted to!
It is nice to see the months being chipped away, but it has really driven home quite how much over-paying it takes to reduce it even by a few months! It seems almost impossible to imagine paying it off much sooner than the original term
