Ok it will imediately be obvious that I am not au fait with the techy speak of all the clever people on here but I will attempt to describe my problem. I have had this laptop since Boxing Day (Father Christmas came late!) and this porblem has existed from the start. It's an irritation rather than major problem.
If I try to scroll up and down a page,it very often just minimises the page or closes it-sometimes this happens even if I just try to open a link. I'm sure it is only just a settings thing, but I have no clue and for once my Computer savvie kids can't help me either! I would have taken it for advice except it was bought from PC world, and our local branch is an absolute nightmare-treat you like criinals if you take anything back to the repair lab!
Anyway does anyone know if this is an easy thing to remedy or is it a guarantee jobby?

One possible reason why you haven't been swamped with replies is because you don't say what OS you're using, nor which program(s) the problem affects!
If it's only happening in IE, you will have a problem with PC Whirled, as they will say it's a software problem and not covered by the warranty.
However, if it ~is~ only a problem in IE, perhaps the quickest way to solve it is to download Firefox and never use IE again. If you use the Firefox Noscript extension your PC will probably be a lot more secure as a result, and it doesn't take long to master the controls.0 -
First thing to do would be to try another mouse on your PC. At a guess you've got one with the scroll wheel, maybe a Microsoft one? If so, then it has software that is installed that works everything other than the 2 cliky buttons and that may be the issue...swapping the mouse will prove/disprove this.
Let me know how that goes, got a few other ideas but won't try more drunk typing(correcting!) if that works!0
