This is exactly what my dad requested before he passed away in March. He wanted no fuss and we followed his requests.

Our local funeral directors did a beautiful coffin that was still exceptionally cheap so it may be worth asking locally if they do a budget package.

My thoughts are with you all

I was watching a programme not so long ago about donating yourself to science. This avoids all funeral costs entirely. I found it very interesting for myself to look into. They also accept people regardless of how they die, since there is always a scientific use for them.

Tried that this morning, also organ donation. Best they could do was cornea, but she had cataracts, or Bone donation is another option - younger people are preferred though. If she died on a life support machine with no illness or infection, then organ donation could be done.

Donating to medical Science/university - well they only will apparently take un-autopsied bodies.

I'm the only relation and she had few friends, so very small funeral.
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)
