I want to hire a car in Spain, but I have no credit card...HELP!!!

I am flying to Girona airport in Spain next week, but I don't have a credit card, only a Visa debit. I've found a few companies willing to take my debit card, but the problem is I dont drive, and it is going to be my husband as the main and only driver, but he has no cards at all!! Can anyone help??

We've just hired a car in Spain with my OH as the only driver, & I payed with my card with no problems.

Hi, I've got the same problem, my partner and I have only got debit cards and we're hoping to go to Tenerife at the enf August. Could you let me know which company you used and I can see if they operate over there.

We booked it through www.carjet.com who find the cheapest, which in our case was Goldcar. Another thing is not to pay in advance, pay whilst you are picking up the car as you then get business exchange rate which is cheaper.

thanks for your advice, did you use carjet? they told me they wont accept my card, they need one from my husband (although I had been told the day before it would be ok!) Im now thinking we should just turn up at the airport. Did you have to pay a deposit?

Thanks I'm going to have a look into that now, if only I'd thought of it earlier though, I reckon its probably too late now as we're going on Sat 12th!
