I went bankrupt today too!!! I think! Was very strange, got there for 9.15, was called forward to speak in a booth (like a post office counter), this guy asked if I had sought professional advice, and then asked me to swear on the bible after he'd looked through my forms! I thought he was a clerk, and that I'd be called into an actual courtroom, but apparently in Cardiff they do it differently now. You do that bit, someone from the OR's office rings you to confirm a few details, and then the man came back and said, that provided the people at the OR's office were happy, a judge would delare me bankrupt that same day. I left, and instead of being hugely relieved, I'm worrying about getting the letter in case it says "uh...uh...you must pay it all back!!!". Plus the lady at the OR's said she couldn't say for sure if my car would be taken which I'm so worried about as my nan bought it for me and I work all over South Wales so really need it!

So, technically, could be bankrupt today, or might not!!!!! My OR appointment is on the 23rd July as well, fingers crossed.

Well after that relatively stress-free day, it all went pear-shaped! Did Not get my Chinese!!:mad: Blame my daughter for that! Had to make do with chicken & chips from the chippy instead! Oh dear me how will I gert through the night!LOL

Forgot to add - the OR's office said they were sending a letter out today to my current bank to say that they had no interest in the account and would they keep it open for me.

Miss R, as long as you have taken professional advise and they said it was your only option then you have no worries.

How much is the car worth? Make sure you do a letter and get it into the OR's office on why the car is essential to you and not just a luxury. I'm sure that chaps on he will look at it before you send it if you want a second opinion. Enjoy your new debt free life.
