37" is becoming a popular screen size, big enough to involve you not so big as to dominate the room.
Some sets don't display DTT very well, best vieing a few.
There is always freesat HD as an alternative to Sky+ HD as its now called.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

check the tv supports HD 1080p to enjoy the best picture quality you can - currently the best quality HD, and is what a sky+HD box outputs at max

However if you go for Virgin HD then that only outputs at 720p, however, if a tv is 1080p it will definately do 720p.

be careful not to confuse 1080p and 1080i - as a comparison 1080i is much the same as 720p.

    usually goes in this order.
    720p, 1080i, 1080p.

The differences arent huge, but if you see 720p then 1080p you would probably notice a slight difference. Either way its going to be amazing and better quality than non HD.

I thought sky only broadcast in 1080i, due to band width required by the progressive signal? On a 32", you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between 1080p or 720p really. Either way, unless you get a HD input source, whether that be Sky HD, freesat HD, or blu ray, the picture quality won't be as good as your standard CRT.

If you're getting a 32" or 37" then I wouldn't bee too hungup on 1080p as you're not going to notice that much of a difference to warrant an extra couple of hundred pounds over a good 720p set.
