We got all the money we were owed from the previous year this Friday just gone, had to wait a total of two weeks, which i think is excellent really, comparing it to some stories on here.
  • I have just phoned them today to give them earnings figure for 2006 - 2007. They told me at the time I claimed back in July 2007 to give them my expected salary for that tax year so I did. I recently discovered (last week) that I was meant to give them my previous years taxable income (Which was zero). I give them this new figure of zero and they recalculated my award and it turn out they owe me money in the region of £1400.

They have confirmed this and tell me that it needs to be done manually because the figure is 0 and the system doesn't reecognise a zero figure. Now they say that "one day" it will be sorted when someone realises this and has a look at the notes. I was kind of furious so he said that because he has noticed this it will "go on a pile and when it gets to the top, they will write to me."

Can anyone shed some light in this? Am I right in thinking that if they acknowledge they owe you money, they need to release it to you asap?

    Many thanks...

I hate to be the bearer of bas news but it is unlikely that you will receive anything. You are trying to make a correction to a finalised tax year award - unless there has been an official error this wont normally be possible.
  • Hmmm... as far as I know, it was their error. I'll just have to wait and see...

Im in the same boat. Now been waiting 2 months, had payment processed, still nothing, sent referral, still nothing, complaint sent, still nothing, head office complaint sent, they have 3 days left of the 10 waiting days.

    Christmas could be ruined
  • Sorry about this, I never did get back to you all about this. They sorted me out, I got £1400 deposited into my bank account about 6 weeks ago. I think it was probably due to all the phone calls and general "being a pain in the !!!!."

Call them and put in a request to head office to release the funds owed to you into your bank account.
