Need a laptop!!!!!

Hi folks
right I need a laptop, basically just for usual things like email, surfing, I do use my puter a lot for photographs and occasionally auctions, I am clueless as to which to buy, what makes are good etc. Any help here would be appriciated, I have been looking on the dell site at their lowest priced laptop, think it was around 480.00. Anyone know of a bargain???????

Inspiron 1200 is £429 @ dell - a very basic laptop (much like the old sony I am writing this on)

Have you looked at the top of this board on the second thread? It is titled 'The Great Cheapest Decent Laptop Hunt' and has lots of helpful information posted in it.

For the most recent prices and information, I suggest you click on 'last page' rather than starting at the beginning............it's a massive thread.

I used that thread when I was looking to buy a laptop and got lots of help from it and MSE members.
