What are they waiting for? Does the B+B share price have to go to zero before they step in?

The Daily Mail are reporting (tomorrow's edition) that they have been bailed out by a group of the big banks - saw the front page on the telly news just now.

All the banks seem to be rising today. Dead cat bounce or green shoots?
Make your decision and put your money on the roulette table :)

It's shocking how far these have fallen. I sold HBOS at 830 and AL. at 710 back in December and have since sat back in disbelief at the decline. Crazy.

You had the sense to sell, theres must be thousands who thought "I'll hang on to them because they will go back up, shares always do"

I reckon it will be years and years until shares return to thier highs.

IMHO any rise in the banking sector, as in most, if not all other sectors, is definitely a dead cat bounce. The bank's problems are only just starting and will continue for many months, if not years, to come.

Especially if they lose the on-going court case and have to pay back all those bank charges, coupled with neg. equity reposessions. I worked as a contractor at HBOS back in Dec and advised the HBOS staff that they should sell their employee shares and buy back in once they had fallen to a more sustainable level. They all decided to hold out, hoping their stocks would go back above 1000p. I guess when you've held stock at +1000p, it's hard to sell at 800p despite originally getting the shares at sub 800p prices.

We'll not see +1000p again with HBOS until the next housing boom, and the way things are going I reckon I'll be retired by then.

I also had TATE shares that I bought when they crashed at 400p in sept, and sold at 440p in Dec. I regretted that when they went up to 575p in March, but I see they're back down to 416 today. They may be worth a punt again if they get sub 400p. A good solid company, plus they're looking at using sugars in fuel production...

Now comes the stressful bit, do you hold out for more or do you sell? I played this game with my NRK shares and aged 10 years by the end of it :D
