    The majority of intermediaries now charge for mid-term adjustments, because they just don't make enough money on the initial policy sale to cover the admin for such adjustments.

    If you expect to make MTAs, of course query the cost up front. And if a £20 or £15 charge makes the difference between one company and the next best, choose the next best.

    But in the whole scheme of things, I can't get too excited. We've just had to pay 2 lots of these fees as both my wife and I changed cars at the same time. But I still wouldn't have chosen different insurers up-front as the prices were SO competitive.
