Beta Puppy food problems

Hi,

My 6 month old puppy is on Beta Puppy Large breed...however, over the past 4-5 days he's really gone off it. I started adding some occasional rice and maybe an egg every now and then and he eats that super quick! Do you think hes just getting bored of the biscuits? Should I change the food/add something else?

Any advise would be great..thanks!

That's about when we changed because ours wasn't eating her food. In fairness, that might partly be because of their massive feeding guide.

Switched to Burns. We add to it most times, but when we don't she still eats it all.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Can I just ask...what else do you feed your dog? Ive fed Deefa pasta, rice and scrambled egg.

I think i'll definately look into changing the biscuits, are the Burns ones as good as Beta?

    Thanks

Burns is the food with an almost evangelical following, in certain quarters. That actually put me off a bit but when we tried their free samples Poppy took my hand off, so there we are :) .

Burns is better than Beta. That's not to say that there aren't other premium dry foods, but we've not tried them.

As for extras, she gets just about anything that's left over (as long as it doesn't have onions, grapes etc. in it). But it's a small part of the total - say a couple of tablespoons. Even rice is appreciated (which is wierd, as her kibble is chicken & rice :) ).

She loves canned pilchards in tom sauce, just one per meal.

I tend to boil up chicken carcasses and veg (ex onions) to make stock. That gets boiled down to a jelly and the boiled meat left in (have to be careful to remove all those chicken bones). She loves that, even the presumably pretty tasteless meat.

Offcuts of meat, as long as they're not too fatty, and offal is always appreciated. I used to keep the fat/juices from cooking mince and mix it with potato, but I've stopped that because it's saturated fat.

And always a squirt of tomato sauce, for taste and to help stop scorch marks on the lawn. Be careful though as some ketchups contain onion.
